Rogers County's Class 4A track teams converged on Catoosa High School Saturday for the regional track and field meet. GIRLS HIGHLIGHTS Alicia Mercado of Sequoyah defeated Inola's Kylie Hendrickson in a 1-2 Rogers County finish in the 100 meter hurdles. Mercado's winning time was 17.06. She also won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.81. Catoosa's Jordan Bordwine finished a close second in the 100 meters with a time of 12.99. Tori Wood of Sequoyah finished second in the 3200 meters with a time of 13:04.35, and second in the 1600 meters in 5:51.14. She also finished fourth in the 800 meters in 2:27.89. Bianca Coleman of Verdigris finished second in the 200 meters in 26.96. Oologah's Madison Jones was third and Bordwine was fourth. Coleman also finished second in the 400 meters in 1:00.90. Oologah's Kiah Purdunn won the high jump with a leap of 5-4. Taygen Scrivner of Sequoyah placed third and Payton Thompson of Oologah was fourth. Purdunn also won the long jump with a distance of 16-6. Montana Dumas of Sequoyah's was third at 15-11. Kathryn Parrish of Catoosa and Emma Gill of Oologah tied for second place in the pole vault with a height of 8 feet. Josie Yates of Oologah finished third in the shot put with a toss of 33-5. BOYS HIGHLIGHTS Oologah's 3200 relay team finished second in 8:39.77. Mayson Powell of Oologah won the 110 meter hurdles in 15.50, just 0.3 ahead of second place finisher Mason Hassell of Sequoyah. Daniel Cowan of Sequoyah finished second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.09, just ahead of Inola's Wyatt Oliver's 11.17 third-place time. Oliver edged out Cowan in the 200 meters. Oliver was second in 22.42 and Cowan was third in 22.74. Ty Dixon of Oologah won the 400 meters with a time of 52.80. He also finished second in the high jump with a height cleared of 6 feet. Jayden Biggs of Inola was third with a 6-foot jump and Catoosa's Mason Wallace was third at 5-8. Catoosa finished 1-2-3 in the pole vault. Kai Faulkner was first at 13 feet, Jerras Presson was second at 12-6 and Jordan King was third at 11-6. Chance Walstrom of Oologah, the defending long jump state champion, finished second at regionals with a leap of 22-04.5, just three and a half inches behind Konnor Culver of Jay. The Chelsea boys also placed fifth with 57 points. The Chelsea girls' 3200 relay team finished second in 11:07.81. The 1600 relay finished fourth in 4:30.89. And Ashley Ellis finished second in the discus throw with a toss of 103-10 and second in the shot put with a throw of 33-7.25. Sydney Smith and Hope Plummer each scores, finished fourth and fifth in the event. For the boys, Chelsea's 400 relay team finished fourth in 46.89, the 800 relay team was third in 1:36.47. John Humler won the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.72, nearly two seconds faster than runner-up Tyler Busby of Stroud. He was fourth in the 110 hurdles in 17.63. Cameron Ratley was fourth in the 1600 meters in 5:15.53. Montana Jenkins finished third in the discus and second in the shot put. 1A Regional at Okemah The Foyil boys finished second in the regional team standings. Thomas-Fay-Custer won with 202 points. Foyil edged Timberlake 69-68 for second. The Panthers qualified three relay teams for state. The 400 relay team of Kaleb Vanable, Stone Platt, Caleb Lentz and Lloyd McKnight won the even with a time of 46.36. The quartet also finished second in the 800 relay in 1:36.97. And the 1600 relay team of Platt, Vanable, McKnight and Stoney Morrison were third in 3:58.76. Gauge Austin qualified in both hurdles, races, finishing second in both. Other top six finishers were Kyler Compos, 5th place in 100 meters; and 6th place in 200 meters; Silas Cusher was 6th place in the 100 meters and Matthew Dennis was sixth place in the shot put. For the girls, Micah Dennis was second in the 100 meters and third in the 200 meters. Sarah Cope finished fifth in the 100 and fourth in the long jump. Madison Kelley finished second in the 1600 meters with a time of 7:09.66. Dessa Pinkston was third in the long jump. The 400 relay team was second in 55.51 and 800 relay team finished third in 1:57.51.
